Cantus Ensemble

Out of focus recorded a concert by the Cantus Ensemble for the 75th anniversary of the Croatian Society of Composers at the Croatian Music Institute. Under the direction of the conductor and artistic director of the ensemble, Berislav Šipuš, the work of Ruben Radica “Litaniae Sanctorum pro Papa Ioanne Paulo” and the Concertino for violin and chamber ensemble by Natko Devčić was performed, in which the soloist of the ensemble Academy is now Ivan Novinc. As part of the constant collaboration with the up and coming generation of musicians, this concert premiered a new work “Šlomlek Maryam” by a young, talented percussionist, very active in the world of jazz, but also still a student of composition, Šimun Matišić. Cantus Ensemble was joined by mezzo-soprano Marta Schwaiger, as well as saxophonists Saša Nestorović and Dragan Sremec.
