Ivanjski bonfires in Karlovac

Out of Focus had organized the Ivanjski Krijes, a bonfire placed in Karlovac, throughout 2018 and 2019, on behalf of the city tourist office. The event, with its 240 years old tradition, consists of lighting the fire on the banks of the Kupa river and ends with concerts of bands like “Crvena jabuka” and “Zabranjeno pušenje”. For the first time, the Banija Bridge was illuminated with lights, just like rows of trees  were at the Kupa banks, while the main stage was set in front of the bridge. This raised the production standard of the whole event on a new level. In addition to the overall organization, Out of Focus has produced hundreds of photographs for both editions and a final video for the June bonfire.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the bonfires in 2020 were held in a smaller form. Out of Focus produced photographs for this edition.
